Let me tell you my story from last weeks vacation camping trip.
We had been there all week. Friday night, the place is filling up. We see what looks like a nice new 38' 5th wheel and crew cab truck pull in. Starts around the circle and on the back side of us stops about 20' short of the only campsite left open.
The campsite has trees on both sides of the parking pad and very little room on the road to swing to prior to backing.
I set my red solo cup down and start across our site to offer to help the poor soul who has by now stepped into the middle of the parking pad, scratching his head and pointing and is loosing confidence by the minute that his rv will fit or that he has the skill to get it in the space.
I introduce myself and tell him I figured he might need an extra set of eyes watching out for him if he decided to try it. He appreciated my offer and as we looked closer, it became pretty clear he or anyone else was not going to get the rig into the site the way it was designed to be backed in.
About that time, I turned around and noticed that with a short jant through the grass, entering from the next road over and a hard 90 right turn and than a hard 90 degree left turn, he would be perfectly setup to pull straight into the parking pad.
A quick discussion with the gentleman who's campsite we needed to access to accomplish this alternate pathway and he pulled up his cornhole boards and we had a plan and access.
By the time we got this nice fellow back in his truck, pulled around a couple obstacles and over to the side of the next road he needed to be on to access this new path, another camper that had a shorter rig had noticed what was going on and offered to trade with him as his would fit very easily.
Walked away with a renewed sense of pride to call myself a RVer and what a great group of people most I have come in contact with are. All willing to help when possible, even when it meant some significant effort. Hats off to all of you that try to be helpful to your fellow campers!
