Campgrounds in the Keys
I am planning a trip from SW Fla. to the Keys. Would like suggestions of where to stay and what to see. Going for a week or two.

- Chief neon... I'm jealous of you paying $20 per nite in Fiesta RV park, we just got back from a week there in January and paid over $100 per nite! We had a great time, and only 70 miles to Key West. Couldn't beat the view from our site though...

You are correct that there are very few white sand beaches in the keys but there is more to the experience than just beaches. The vistas are unmatchable any where else and the lifestyle is 2nd to none. If you are after beautiful beaches the Florida Panhandle has some of the prettiest in the world.rr2254545 wrote:

And yet I have camped at all 4. It's all about planning- Howdy!
We have a membership with Thousand Trails and RPI that let's us stay in the Keys at a affordable price. Last year during the off season April - September we stayed at Fiesta RV Resort and Sunshine RV Resort for three week each for under $20.00 a night which is cheaper than the State parks. We liked Fiesta but Sunshine is closer to Key West.

- You didn't say when. I was looking yesterday for the first available in the four state parks, nothing till July/August. The private CGs are $100+ a night. I would say a day trip to Key West is a must do, but I wouldn't want to live there. PM me if you're active duty or retired military.
- Long Key state park. All the campsites back up to the ocean and beach. Shallow crystal clear water about 20 ft behind each site.
