- buckyExplorer IIThe walking thrus used to bug me until I realized that most of the time it is forced by the CG layout. The bath houses are the main objective, and they usually are in places where the tenters and "I never poop in MY RVers" can't get to them without walking thru. I must say that the lder teens and the young adults seem to have the best manners. They travel right on the edges, and try to use a vacant site where possible.
- LantleyNomadI have none. It's going to take a lot more than yappy dogs or someone cutting through my site to disturb my camping experience.
I go camping to escape the rat race and I do.
I simply tune out the negative things from loud music to loud people.
By the way kids are allowed to be loud while playing.
Sounds like some of us are just old and grouchy, uptight or both.
In retrospect my biggest grip is camping around those that don't know how to relax and enjoy the moment. - aussie1ExplorerMy pet peeve - people who can't read the signs in the laundry that say 'NO WASHING OF PET RUGS/BLANKETS' and then my washing comes out covered in dog/cat hair. Even if I wasn't allergic to cats I would still find it disgusting.
Cheers - nypatnvaExplorerBeer cans, soda cans and unburnable garbage in the fire pit and me cleaning up other peoples dog******so the dog haters on RV.NET don't complain.
- VeebyesExplorer III never get to see them but the people who were on the site sometime before me, stayed there for more than a few days, & put out one of those huge mats killing all the grass beneath it.
All future users of the site are faced with a dirt square to walk on.
If you want carpet, stay at home, or at least don't leave it out for days killing the grass underneath that others might enjoy. - sowegoExplorerAlmost everyone will experience some irritating situation during our travels. There aren't many choices...let it slide, report rule offenders to the manager's office or pack up and leave. Taking matters directly to the offenders may or may not be a good idea. Reasonable folks may be ok with that...those that aren't...well could be a bad scene. It's a tough decision so everyone has to decide.

My suggestion is when you drop yourself into a large group of people which you do not know and are of varying levels of education, wealth and ideals that you leave your pet peeves at home.....relax
This topic has come up at least once each year for the past ten years and the above answer is the best I have ever read concerning this topic.
This weekend we are dry camping in a big field to watch slew jet boat racing. We are on the so called "quiet" side of the road but we still hear most of the partiers on the other side. We have come here for three years and are fully aware of the atmosphere and conditions.
If one does not understand the conditions of a venue it would be best to stay away rather than complain.
So, I quess my pet peve about campers are complainers. - gkenworthExplorerListening to other peoples music. I don't do that in my backyard at home. Why do some people insist on sharing their taste in music?
