Be aware that the National Park Service considers leaving painted rocks as littering. If you take rocks to paint it is looked at as theft.
As a NPS volunteer we have orders to pick up any we find and throw in the trash. If caught leaving them you will get a warning and possible citation from the rangers.
Please don't litter.
