Can I flat tow a golf cart?

Simple question. Can I flat tow a golf cart? Assume that the golf cart is tow-able, will it be able to stay behind on the highway?

  • I really doubt that the armature in that electric motor will last long at 60 MPH. It just isn't made to run that fast.
If it is a gas golf cart, the rear axle bearing aren't made to turn that fast, either.
    IMO, do not try it!

There's only one statement to make just before your first test run.

  • As the others have said, NO! It will not last long at highway speeds. You don't pull something that's built to go top speed of 14 MPH, at speeds of 55+.
  • NO! Nothing on the golf cart is rated for that types of speed. Go look at what the tires are rated for.
