Cape Blanco, OR (coast) has openings this summer
Hi All,
I'm posting this on behalf of one of the rangers who called me yesterday. Last year we were lighthouse hosts at Cape Blanco and are doing the same job again this year (later this summer). Turns out the ranger has had several last-minute cancellations for this summer and is short hosts. I told him I'd help get the word out so here are the openings and contact info:
Cape Blanco Openings:
JUNE – 1 Lighthouse Host couple
JULY – Port Orford Lifeboat Station Museum opening
- 2 Lighthouse Host couple openings
- Junior Ranger opening (single or couple)
AUG – 1 Lighthouse Host couple
- Historic Hughes House Docent opening
CONTACT: Greg Ryder, greg.ryder@state.or.us, 541-332-6774 ext. 5
The lighthouse host job is around 15-17 hours/week and you get 3 days off. In return you get a lovely full-hookup campsite at the campground.
We're about to drive to a place with no internet, so I'm going to refer those interested to posts I have on the area.

We LOVED this position and if you have any interest give Greg a call.
