- lj2654ExplorerI never have used anything on my toads. No issues at all. I do have a low flap across the back of the DP and that keeps most of the small stuff off.
- mowermechExplorerI spent $400 (give or take a little) on a full front cover for the PT Cruiser. We used it on our trip to Tennessee and back. Since we tow the PT on a dolly, I wonder if it wasn't a waste of money. The car is high enough that nothing much hits it anyway. But, if something ever does bounce up there, the car is protected.
I haven't noticed any damage from rubbing. Yet.
I didn't use anything when flat towing the Jeep I had, nor do I use anything when flat towing the truck. - bobsinnExplorerI tried one and like Doug said I got a lot of scratches under the edge of the bra. Never used it again.
- samsontdogExplorerI had a bra on my Honda for awhile but noticed it rubbed the paint off in several places. I never used it again
- BumpyroadExplorerI have heard of many people getting scratched paint from the bra vibrating due to wind, etc. with grit under it. Plus they look ugly. would prefer a few chips to that myself.
bumpy - DouglasCExplorerI used a car bra for 10 years starting in 1997 and on 3 different vehicles. Eventually I purchased a vehicle which was a new model for that car line and a bra was not available for some time so I just got along without it. I found that if your motorhome has decent mud flaps behind the rear wheels, most of the road debris is stopped by them and doesn't get to the front end of your toad. Also, when I did use a car bra, some debris seemed to get caught under it over time and scratched the paint. Bottom line - - I haven't used a car bra in some years now and don't plan to ever use one again.
