CG picnic table size

Not sure if all are of a stranded size.

Not sure anyone can answer this. According to Google a standard picnic table is 6ft wide x 29 inches across. I have seen much smaller in some CG's.

There really is no "standard size" for picnic tables in campgrounds that we've seen. Some parks have commercially built tables that vary from 6-8 feet long, while at least one park we visit used to have round concrete tables, but now has rectangular 3'x5' wooden tables, built on site. Other parks we've stayed at had a mixture of rectangular and round tables, some with umbrellas through a center hole. We have a selection of cheap plastic table clothes on board that we can use for most sizes we run into.

This post reminds me of the long motorcycle trips I used to take. I had a small 2-person tent, and often camped in small non-developed CGs. Many times, I noticed people sleeping on top of tables, unless raining, when they slept under tables. I felt kinda spoiled with my $20 tent, and leaky plastic blow up mattress.

Is OP wondering if his frame will fit table top, or underside? :)

The above pictured picnic table resembles some of the ones we will see at RV parks, but the Forest Service campgrounds around here they are big, heavy, and more recently made of concrete. Some even have extended ends for ADA compliance.

Reason why I ask is I'm buying online a popup screen shelter/gazebo and wanted to make sure which size to get that will fit a picnic table. Don't want to go way oversize as some cg's lot size are small.

There will be parks (ours included) that won't allow that to be erected. Just so you are aware.

I don't think there is any "standard" size out-there! Seems every campground we visit has something different. Some are huge, some are tiny. Some are made with metal pipe framing, some are so old they are falling apart. We had one a few years ago that was half burned. Yea, someone set it on fire and it was charged. Some campsites have 1 table, some have 2 tables. We've even had campsites with NO table. We have our own back-up tables we bring with us too. We even had a picnic table the required a person sitting on each side. If only one sat, the table would tip up.

I think you can plan on 4 people sitting at a picnic table. After that, anything is possible. (or should I say IMpossible!)

We have seen tables of many sizes and materials including wood, concrete, and metal. One park we go to has really nice oversize coated metal tables with a handicap accessible (wheelchair access) end on them.
