On my late model Ford truck I found a package in the glove box with a FUSE and a RELAY in it with no markings... After looking in the manual I found this was to be plugged into the main fuse block under the hood of the truck to engage what they call TRAILER TOW.... This provided 12VDC coming from the truck start system to provide 12VDC to the trailer +BAT line through the 7-way trailer cable connection.
With the fuse and relay installed, it is only available when the truck ignition key is turned ON...
Because of the longer lines and size of the cables this can only provide a small trickle charge DC Voltage going back to the trailer battery...
Based on your two threads you started it is abundently apparent you do not understand your RV systems. I think before you consider boondocking you need to really learn about systems and how those systems work. This meqns both of you go out to your trailer and start studying systems, what operates what and how to conserve those resources.
If you have a seven way connector, one of them will be a charge line. The bad news...it takes a long tow to recharge camper battery, due to low charge going through this line.
All 7 pin connectors support a minimum amount of charging assuming your truck is wired correctly and the charge pin is powered. Don't expect it to recharge your batteries completely but rather it's more of a maintain situation.
