Chase Mastercard a rip off

Don't EVER get a Chase Bank Master Card they WILL NOT stand by you when you have an issue with a merchant. We live in New Jersey and traveled to Florida with our RV. While in Fla our transmission gave out in Fla. the place we took it advertised they were a reputable company with years of experience. Since we didn't know who was good and had to be towed to a close transmission repair. They fixed it then within traveling 100 miles the transmission went out again. We ended up going to another transmission repair because they would not return our calls. We reported everything to Chase Master Card as soon as it happened and had documentation of the 2nd transmission repair saying the first repair was done incorrectly. The bottom line was after 10 mons of constant contact with Chase they said a little none line in your agreement says IF YOU TRAVEL 100 MILES FROM YOUR BILLING ADDRESS THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR HELPING YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK FROM A IRRESPONSIBLE COMPANY YOU ARE NOW ON YOUR OWN. I CUT UP MY CHASE CARD FAST AND ARE NOW WITH DISCOVER CARD

  • It seems like your issue is with the repair company, not the credit card company.

If you had paid cash, you wouldn't be whining about someone else being responsible for your problem.

If the repair was done improperly, then you should sue the outfit that did the shoddy repairs.

You might want to contact a Florida attorney, and see what remedies are available to you to recover for the improper repair.
  • I'm with Bank Of America and had a questionable charge only yesterday. Made one call spoke with one agent and in less than 10 minutes; problem solved.
  • Huh. Not my experiences, had an issue with Winegard and one phone call to Chase and the disputed amount was stopped until i asked them to release it after the dispute wad taken care of.
  • Sorry to hear that. Why don't you let us know who the trans shops were so we can stay clear of the first and commend the second?
  • Hopefully, you have read the agreement for your Discover card, before you get into the same problem with them.

When you read/signed your Chase agreement, did you read that statement? Was it not there, when you signed the agreement? If it was then "agreement" means that you agree to those terms and conditions.
  • Over 100 miles from home? That's crazy!

Can you post the actual wording?
