No different than the ridiculous prices commanded by vintage cars really, it's value is what the market says it's worth. A quick Google shows that the price is on the high side, but definitely in the ballpark.
Here is another vintage beauty, a completely restored 1955 Spartan Manor, with an asking price of $95,000.

But it was ok when he bought that same chrome piece for his lol ..
