CHP doing their best!! THANK YOU!

KNIGHTS FERRY:
A family from Colorado had the unfortunate experience of breaking down this morning. Although their truck was able to be towed from the scene, the trailer had to left behind, exposing itself to possible theft. Officer Disch summoned a nearby commercial unit who was able to tow the trailer to the family's location in Oakdale. Nice job Officer Disch for going above and beyond to provide that extra service to the public.

It did not say that the CHP towed it. A commercial unit did. It did not say that it was at public expense.

It is a commercial CHP (taxpayers) pickup in the photo doing the people a favor. Good for the officer, hope he doesn't get a reprimand.

I can go either way on this.......

Really nice of CHP towing TT for owner. Kudos to those officers!!!

Sure it was a 'service' and did get a roadside hazard removed which does keep traffic flowing/provide a measure of safety

But at tax payers expense? More important duties? Unavailable for other calls?

Owner should have had tow service for both truck and trailer......anyone towing should have both.
No covered tow then PAY for the tow.
    Be responsible.........

Oh wait what was I thinking :S

  • Just goes to show you, that even police are really human! How easy it would have been for them to call a tow truck and then the owner would get billed without a choice. I'm glad to see this! Thanks for posting!
  • Wow, I'd say that was above and beyond the call of duty. The only experience I've had with the CHP in that area of the foothills was a ticket for speeding.
