Yup, I've done this. However the church "denomination" I'm associated with has churches all across the country, some areas more than other. So with the aid of the church directory, (and now it's all on the internet), its easy to contact the pastor and simply ask. Of course, it does help when you're part of the same denomination or affiliation. Donations are always welcome and they'll even let you hook up to 20 amp electricity (usually an outside plug somewhere). One time, they gave us the key to the church so we could use the facilities inside (now that was trusting), and we simply locked the door in the morning and left the keys inside the door. So ya, it can be done. It really helps if you stay on a Saturday night and then attend their services in the morning .... boy ... they just love you for that! They treat you like a royal dignitary!
