Class A vs Semi

I wonder if the RV driver mistook the blinking red light, for a 4-way stop?? That's a nice, wide-open intersection - it's not like the truck "appeared out of nowhere".

Probably had been camping at the Casino's VERY nice campground. We really enjoy it up there.

Wow! I can't believe one or both of them didn't get their ticket punched right then and there!

Thats because the prosecutor is reviewing the accident. The MH driver is badly injured and might not make it. Semi driver was also quite injured.

A 74-year-old Manistee man was driving a 1989 Gulfstream Motorhome on M-22 trying to turn onto northbound US-31 when he was struck by a southbound propane hauler, the release said.

Ahh, he was making a left onto US-31... lucky the semi didn't cut his MH in half. The truck driver must have managed to slow his rig.

"trying to turn onto" is a kind way of saying "pulled out infront of"

Here, the police used the unkind term "pulling out":

Manistee deputies say the man driving the camper was pulling out onto US31 and was hit by the semi.

A little local knowledge:
This intersection has a mixing of different kinds of traffic. You have folks heading south coming back from Traverse City and they've been on the road a while and are used to traveling the 55-60mph and then you have people leaving the Casino (on M-22). All the roads at the Casino are 15mph, so they're in a slow driving habit.

Almost every time I'm coming home from TC someone from the Casino will pull out in front of me, and proceed to travel at 25-30mph on the highway until I give them ample motivation with my horn.

Those are empty tanks, no propane. As usual, the news reports are wrong.
