I have found that steam cleaning works best in our S&B and RV. The others don't seem to work as well.
I don't think steam cleaning leaves the carpets very wet.
If you're concerned about the moisture, put a dehumidifier in your rig and turn up the heat. It will dry quickly.
Personally, I would rather do it before the trip.
