Cleaning product(s) recommendations

I have a fairly new Keystone Passport. It stays outside - no shade, no cover.
It's looking like it needs a bath, so I'd like some cleaning product recommendations.
The walls are "Laminated gel-coated filon"
And the roof is "seamless Alpha Superflex TPO"

What would you recommend for cleaners, preferably one that leaves some sort of protection behind...

Thanks!
  • I use a liberal amount of car wash solution. If that isn't enough, I use Totally awesome degreaser.
  • One year I used shampoo, my wife tossed it out because she didn't like the smell.
It was excelent, soap is soap.
  • I usually just use car wash. But for tough spots I will use Awesome, which you can buy at most Dollar Stores for $1.00 for a spray bottle.Spray it on full strength, let it soak in for a minute then use a sponge to work it in and rinse.
  • Powder Spic N Span works great with a long handle scrub brush. Be careful not to step in the soap; you can slide right off the rig.
  • Soap IS NOT Soap !

Never use laundry / dish soap on a vehicle unless you want to remove the wax and or streak the finish !

Depending on your level of experience cleaning, washing and detailing a vehicle (yes there actually is a science to it ) ;)
The right way would be buff the oxidation off the gel-coat then give it a good polish then a couple of coats of a good quality Carnuba wax with a DA polisher.
If you cannot do that or have access to one.
Can you afford to have it detailed ?
If not then get a good quality "vehicle soap" with wax in it
Mcguiars makes a good combo Wash/Wax and most if not all RV places sells the combo too. Walmart sells Camco products and has a RV wash & Wax.

I used Camco Wash & Wax picked it up at walmart on my last MH before I sold it.
Even tho it had plenty of oxidation showing, the W/W at least gave it a little shine and protection.
I bought a Flex DA polisher and did my new to me MH and it turned out nice .
  • The manual for the Tiffin mh i am buying says to use baby shampoo and vinegar added to the water to wash it.

I agree with a car wash solution and have always used Turtle Wax Zip Wax Wash & Wax with great success. I likewise managed to destroy the decals on our previous KZ Spree by using LA's Totally Awesome to get rid of black streaks and now avoid it like the plague with our new trailer. Thetford rubber roof cleaner has always worked well for me on both EPDM and TPO roofs, along with Thetford awning cleaner for ... well, cleaning the awning. :B
  • Waxing a TT is a lot of work/time. If one wants to wax their RV, I recommend something that lasts longer, at least a year. Carnuba typically is not sufficient. Synthetic/polymer would be better.
  • I don't like wash and wax products. Leaves a film on the windows that make them more difficult to clean.
