Cleaning Weber Q-Inside and out and around the burner

Looking for ideas. Soap, torch, oven cleaner.....
Thanks!
Pat
  • Same idea, but I use a grill cleaner spray insteas of oven cleaner. Spray it on good, let it sit for a while, then wash with good pressure on jet-type nozzle. Sometimes repeat if necessary. Wire brush to clean top of grate before each use as it heats up.
  • Easiest way I've found so far it to use Easy Off Oven Cleaner outside, just spray the******out of it. I take the burner out but still spray it down too. Just soak the grate, and housing let it set 1-2 hrs, then use wire brush to clean grate and stiff nylon brush for rest and then hose off good.
  • Take the burner tube out. One screw and you don't have to fight around it.
  • I hook mine up to a bulk container and run it on high for a couple of hours. Most of the grease is cooked away and you can use a plastic scraper to easily remove the rest.
  • Car wash...pressure washer. Highest pressure you can get.

I'll always remember one poster's comment on this subject: "You're supposed to clean them?"
  • It's a nasty job...
    I use:

    >a de-greaser like Awesome, Simple Green, whatever I have on hand.
    >a putty knife to scrape the heavy stuff out with
    >a wire brush
    >rags and paper towels

Rinse the whole thing with a low press spray from the hose.
Light it and let it heat up and dry.

A little water does get in the burner tubes, but it cooks itself out after I light the grill.
