As anyone in business knows there will always be at least one disgruntled employee for whatever reason and usually is not substantiated.
The employee who feels the need to complain publicly is usually the one that was at fault anyway.
Allowing this type of rhetoric to go on and on ad nauseum on a PUBLIC forum CAN and DOES affect a business.
And no I don't think CG's, Park's, Resorts sit and read the forum daily to respond. They use it to post the the job wanted and move on.
And professionally it is never prudent to respond to those type of people who complain 'after the fact'. Employee's should always address a problem AT the time TO the employer. Not afterwards on a public forum to hear themselves yammer on and on.
These threads from employees with chronic complaints who are trying to justify how they were treated or for being fired, 'their' view of the conditions, etc NEED to go poof. Kudo's to the mod.
I agree with your summation but not your conclusion. What needs to go "poof" is the posters who try to demonize a thread. There is much that could be learned by potential employees by allowing some discussion.
Taking a recent thread, I fail to see what could be learned from someone posting that only a fool would take a job with Amazon that paid $10 to $12 per hour since it required working 10 hour days moving boxes. There is no prohibition from starting a new thread either bashing the concept of workamping or even a specific employer. But to bash someone's job posting in that thread will only lead to employers never, ever, posting a job on this forum. (I know several, myself included, that already take that position).
You are right about this particular thread at that particular time. But we shall never know what we may have learned if the thread remained open.
The position at Amazon is very attractive to me and my friend, but I would like to hear more about it here on this forum. Especially from people who have worked it. And I want to hear BOTH SIDES the good and the BAD. I am an adult I can make up my mind for myself. I do not need protecting from disagreeable or negative opinions. That is what this is all about after all...and with the Mods policy that is impossible.
