Cold snap, not winterized yet, issues?

No issues as long as temps don't go much lower than predicted. We've already spent a week camping with overnight temps in the 20's and experienced no frozen waterlines as daytime temps were 50's most days.

Have been caught off guard though one Early Spring trip where temps fell well below their forecasted figures in the four corners area. Waterlines did temporarily freeze for a couple of days but all was well after they thawed.

Have a great time at the beach for your last RV outing of the year. We've already winterized but do dewinterize on occasion to head south to our neighboring states of TX and AZ to enjoy their milder winter temps.

I presently live in an RV in the Lewes area. WBOC tv is calling for temps as low as 27 in some areas Friday night. As long as your water is off, you should be fine. Best to get down this weekend to get it done as they are saying another cold front for early next week.

I would be more concerned if it was going to be below freezing night and cloudy and close to freezing during the day. Otherwise the inside temps should be enough to keep you from freezing up. We have one use left and knowing the cold snap was due I opened the faucets and low points and pulled the water heater annode. I been watching the forecast since and if needed will make a run up to push some pink stuff if I have to. After thanksgiving it will be winterized until we head to FL on Jan 3rd.

Wind/chill has to do with perceived temperature of our skin.No need to worry about it where the trailer is concerned.

No worries. With the lowest forecast temp of 29 for that period, you shouldn't have any trouble. Takes a longer sustained period below freezing for problems to develop. Our last trip is usually the first weekend of November, and I don't worry about winterizing until afterwards, although we often see freezing temps beforehand.

The only time I have damage with the quick cold snaps is forgetting to remove my city water hose. These always freeze up on me when I do that... Even my house water hose does the same thing...

Here at the house where we get to keep our two RV trailers I drain all the tanks and blow out the water water lines and add pink stuff to the traps. I also have a THERMO CUBE installed that will turn on my oil-filled electric heater or 100WATT lights bulbs in various closed up places when it drops to 35 degrees inside the trailer and then shuts off at 45 degrees. This is all we do for heat during the winter months here in Northern Neck Virginia for our parked trailers.


I agree with the comments above if that is all the lower the temp is going to get it will take several days to freeze up enough to do any damage. Especially if it warms up above freezing each day...

You could be where we are, single digit overnight lows, and highs in the 20's for the next weeks. Can't leave until Nov 16 because of a GDaughter performance.
