Along with those roll up flat hoses, I've never wanted a hose that must be extended its full length to use it when a much shorter length would suffice. A couple of weeks ago, we were on a site where an 8' hose would have reached the spigot easily, and I just dropped a coiled 25' standard hose on the ground and only uncoiled the small amount needed. You can't do that with the flat or collapsible hoses that must fully expand to be used. Using less storage space would be nice, but not worth the trade-off in my view. And then there's the reported high failure rate of the collapsible hoses to consider as well...
