- HorsedocExplorer IIWe were on a volunteer list at a state park in SD and had a ton of offers around the state. Turned them down, specifying we wanted a particular park. Two weeks before the park opened for the season they had a volunteer cancel and then called and asked could we be there within two weeks. We were able to make it, but had to wrap up things at home rather quickly.

It differs, dependent upon the employer, the job, etc. When we do our winter work for Amazon, we get a "job confirmation" ("Yes, you're hired") 6 months or so ahead of time, but don't get an actual "start date" until a couple of months ahead of time. We're working for a NF campground this summer, and our start date is 5-6 June "if the road is passable". That's OK with us, we're adaptable.
At some campgrounds or RV parks the start date is set in stone, at others it's set in Jello. Our friends have had their start date changed 3 times for their summer gig this year.
I dont mean to send this off topic but could you PM me or answer here on your experience with Amazon and who do you contact for possible positions there? Thanks - doxiemom11Explorer IIOur position for summer 2015 cannot turn the water on to the host sites until all danger of freezing is past as there is a water line that runs over a creek. We have to watch the weather and see how fast its warming before they/we decide when a good arrival date is.
- blkdodgeExplorerThanks for the information. I will keep this in mind.

. Since this Is in Workamping forum, I assume you're asking about Workamping. Once agreed, we make final agreement with campground contact on start and end dates. We usually have this worked out no later than February each year, and in some cases, in December for arrival in May or June. Whatever date we mutually agree to, we always show on that date. Same applies to departure date. This is finalized before we actually start each year.
How far in advance do you normally get an arrival date?
