Just bought a '17 F-150 supercab, 3.5 Ecobomb, W/10 Speed, 3:55 Rear Gear, 145" wheel base, brake controller and tow package(not Max tow). We're liking this couples trailer http://www.creativebussales.com/rv/travel-trailers/heritage-glen-hyper-lyte-23rb a lot. Yank that sleeper sofa out and replace it with a dual recliner love seat or some mini recliners. Install a good stereo, speakers and sub and I think we will be GTG. Gonna try and order it without the standard A/C and see if they will install a Coleman Mach III power saver so I can run it with my little Honda eu2000i. If not I will.

Think the Ford will pull it OK? Ball park MPG at 62-65 MPH? I'm thinking it will be about 6,250lbs wet.

I don't think there is any towing issue. Interesting to see if they will mod the TT build to leave out the AC. I'm betting the robots will say "no" and install one.

Good point. Our last TT bought in '07 from RVWholesellers in Lakeview,OH was ordered without the roof AC, TV, cheesy stereo, rear ladder and microwave. It cost us only $10,600 without the overpriced junk options. One bandit here wanted $26,500 ON SALE for the same unit with every option available. There are 6 manufactures that offer roughly the same floorplan we want. Anxious to see if any of them will do standard packaged option deletes.
  • Not telling anyone what to do but I'd fetch me an Equalizer 4 point hitch and tow that trailer with your truck anywhere I wanted to go. If that's an 80" queen bed, I really, really like that floorplan! Your idea of the recliners makes it perfect in my humble opinion.

    What`s an Ecobomb?

I'm just being silly. I've always been into sports car racing. I've been going to the Daytona 24 and Sebring 12 hours pretty much every year since '69. I'm a big fan of Scott Pruett. Back in 14 when Ganassi/Pruett debuted the Ecoboost at the 24 we scoffed at the sound it made. It sounded like a Supra with a fart can and everyone laughed and called it the ecobomb. Well no one is laughing now so forget the sound the engine is a monster. And I like where it makes it's torque, down low in the RPM range similar to a diesel.

I'm still a bowtie/LS engine fan and have one too. In fact I looked at Silverados 5.3's. There were none locally with the 3:73 rear, brake controller, and tow package in the mid trim level(LT) and price any where close to what I wanted.

I'll stop calling it an ecobomb, OK.

Yep, we had an Equilizer on our last rig and are big fans.

We love the floorplan too, It's just the two of us. If there is enough width in the slideout I figure I can fab a removal table on posts between the mini recliners to dine. If not it's dining outside on the picnic table or inside at the bar or on TV tray tables.

    HERITAGE GLEN OPTIONS

    La-Z-Boy Rocker Recliner (2)

Sounds like you can get it with independent recliners as an option. Granted, that is not a single reclining couch but should fit your mini recliner description.

Yes I saw that too. We have a huge pair of black leather ones we paid $2,300 for the pair back in '96. They still look and preform great. Lifetime warranty too, they have fixed 2 little issues with ours at no cost over the years. Buy once, cry once.
