- crcrExplorerYou don't need a Companion Honda eu2000i, you can parallel two regular 2000i's (or I understand, any combination of 1000, 2000, and 3000 -- (do your own due diligence and research) inverter Hondas, to get max amperage by making your own parallel kit:

Thanks guys. I understand the limitations with the 2000 genny. We only use the genny once a year or so when camping at the beach and the occasional power failure at home.
My Dad actually has the other 2000w genny so we could couple them if we really wanted the AC. I heard it was better to have at least one of the companion gennys if you planned on using the AC due to its having the 30a plug. I'm guessing something like this is what I need then.
30a adapter
I don't think the one I listed above will work. The picture shows that it has a 4 prong male end but my Honda 2000 companion only has a 3 prong receptacle. Am I missing something? - ^^^^ That one is better than the block style I posted ;)

30a generator adapter on amazon
That's exactly what the OP needs. They also make it in the "dog bone" variety which I prefer. Walmart or any RV has both types. - sh410Explorerthe Honda 2000 will put out 2000W peak and 1600W continues which is 16.7A and 13.3A respectively. The companion has a twist lock plug that is rated for 30A but it would require that a 2nd Honda 2000 be paralleled to the companion to get close to the 30A.
- skipncharExplorerYOu can just plug it in to the 20 amp outlets using an adapter but, of course you will have only 20 amps available that way. That means you'd need to be careful how much stuff you try to run using that method.
- mlts22ExplorerThe 30 amp plug is 120 volts. It requires the locking to non-locking 30A adapter or dogbone, but Camco sells some decent ones of this. I avoid the adapters made from a black Bakelite-like plastic -- they get hot, while the dogbones and the Camco yellow ones don't.
- Tom_NExplorer110v X 20amps = 2200watts
110v X 30amps = 3300watts
Your Honda 2000 is only a 20 amp generator.
Use your 30 to 20 amp pigtail.
