I use a dollar store spray bottle and fill it up with ATF. I then go under the rig and spray anything that is metal. Just make sure you don't spray something that can get hot since ATF is combustible.
In the old days people would spray the underside of cars with used motor oil then drive down a dirt road. I like ATF since it spreads so well because of the detergents in it, plus it penetrates into all of the nooks and crannies. Don't feel like you have to do a detail job with it. In 30-45 minutes the ATF will spread itself and appear like you had a pro do it. I spray mine every 6-8 weeks.
If you want to spend some money, then Fluid Film is the one that gets thumbs up.
