- tpiExplorerRVs can buy gas in my local Costco (Laguna Niguel). I'll drive mine through at times. Savings per gallon is variable. I've seen times this year and last where I've saved 40-45 cents per gallon over local gas stations with standard street pricing. At other times it can be as little as 5-9 cents per gallon. Pays to watch gas buddy and make the call based on current conditions.

You got it! ;)
Costco is one of the most successful companies in the country..they know who their customers are. They sell bizillions more gallons of fuel to passenger cars and light trucks than to motorhomes.
They design their facilities to fit their primary customers...cars light trucks. Sure they want to sell to motorhomes also and will continue to do so...but we are not their primary concern.
I sure wish Costco would expand their area of business more. Unfortunately, there are no Costco stores here in northeast PA. :( - FunnyCamperExplorer IIstopping for fuel stinks :) we all know that who love to put the miles behind us :)

10 deep last night is absolutely nuts. Have better things to do. - 10 deep last night is absolutely nuts. Have better things to do. Filled up at shell. And that was with the DW's Subaru. Can't imagine going in a large RV.
If only more would consider an electric vehicle for city driving. :R

LOL.. too funny. It's a different world now that gas stations have become grocery stores.
I remember when the first grocery store put in gas pumps in my home county back in the early 70s, and the gas stations across the street started carrying milk and bread - and advertising you could get in and out in less than 5 min.
Costco certainly doesn't have the cars parking at the pumps while folks go inside issue. One reason they (and Sams and Walmart) locate their pumps as far from the store entrance as possible on the property.
But the reality is that for places like QT, RaceTrac, Roadrunner, etc - the sales of the snacks, sodas, coffee and such makes more money and more profit than the sale of gasoline or diesel.
Those items run a gross profit of 100-150%, while fuel runs a gross profit of under 10%. - Chuck_thehammerExplorerI will believe it when they install 3 foot by 3 foot signs 100 feet before there entrances .. so I do not block there driveway with my 55 foot truck and trailer.

Correct!
We stopped at a Costco with our 40 foot diesel towing a car. Yes, we took up all three pumps but the station wasn't busy (not in Calif). The attendant didn't say a work other than "nice rig". The only odd thing was the car with older ladies in it who waited behind us instead of pulling into one of the open pumps! Guess they really like the outside pump. And yes, some Costco's sell diesel. - Cloud_DancerExplorer IIAll those years between my first and second wife,....NOBODY told me what to do...:B
