I would do what you can to keep the sun off the trailer. People state that they are "meant" to be in the sun but that just means the manufacturer does their best to minimize sun damage. But make no mistake about it - the sun is terribly damaging. I had a trailer under a roof but the back was open so sun got on the very back of it. The difference between the back of the trailer and the rest of it was astounding, even though I kept it cleaned and polished with UV protectant. Everything exposed to the sun was fading and parts were getting brittle. The best thing is to put a shelter over it. It does not have to be fancy - just have the opening face north if you can and put the walls down the close to the group.
