Western has it right. Most likely they are not only tripping the breaker at the panel but too many rigs drawing the 30 amp max may also be tripping breakers in sub panels supplying the pedestals.
Those who claim the CG doesn't know what they are doing simply don't have a full understanding of how the entire CG is wired. The problem is most likely more involved than the individual pedestal. I imagine it impacts the entire loop.
50 amp rigs can easily draw the full 30 amps while most 30 amp rigs will not draw the full 30 amps available. They may draw 27 amps or so but not quite 30.
The CG has this policy for a reason,other than to create confusion for themselves and their customers.
I trust experience has taught them that 50 amp rigs will max out / overload the entire loop.
