I have a 50 amp TT and not a 50 amp Coach with EMS. I agree with many others about why I would use more than a normal 30 amp TT. I carry a 30 amp cord when I am at a 30 amp site and use a connector at my camper plug to go from 50 amp input to the 30 amp cord being plugged in. I do not use a dog bone at the pedestal and run my 50 amp cord to the camper.
My use of the TT on a 30 amp site never changes. I run 1 A/C even though I have 2, fridge on electric, W/H on electric, outside kitchen fridge on electric and use hair dryers/electric griddles or microwave as needed although we rarely use the microwave..
I would not say I am using more or loading the circuit more just because I am on a 30 amp but have a 50 amp TT. AGain, most responses suggests that Coaches with EMS are the cause. I would agree with this and that is not my case so I would be quite upset if a CG told me I could not operate my 50 amp TT on a 30 amp site after explaining to them that I don't have a Coach or EMS
