i don't remember this topic comming up before
the topic being
"no 50a rv on 30a sites - becoming the norm"
we can complain and rationalize until H*** freezes over
it won't change anything, the park owner has the right, whether the owners of 50a rvs don't like it doesn't matter
the truth is fact
a 50a RV with EMS, will manage loads to the set limit of the EMS
how many 50a rv owners are going to set that limit below 20amps
15? 18?
especially in hot weather when he wants both of his A/C units on
almost NONE, if they do set it, it will be just below the trip point of the 30amp pedestal circuit breaker
if half of the 30amp loop is 50a RVs running two A/Cs, there is going to be a problem
as to the original question
i don't think it is the Norm YET
but with the opinions expressed here by many owners, i think we will see more of it in the future, as park owners try to manage the power situation
because the NEC covering campground wiring is what it is, the campgrounds are built to that code
you can not simply set the EMS setting at 28amps , and park 50amp rvs on 30a sites and not have problems (during summer camping season) (an empty loop in the middle of winter is a different situation)
you have to limit avg 50a RV use to 30amp Rv use avg, to be on a 30a site and not be part of a problem
many of you are or were business owners, you earned the money to buy that big 50a RV,
how happy would you be with your customers telling you what you could not do with your business and how your business management affect HIS way of doing things
HUH..how would you like that ?
