I strenuously object to the idea that just because my unit has a 50amp connection I am a power hog and should not be on 30amp pedestal's.

While you might arguably have a point in a public park supported by tax dollars you have none in a private park where an owner always maintains the right to decide what the rules may be in his park. If you don't like them you always have the option to go elsewhere where the rules may suit you better.

This is the problem of to many rv'ers and not enough modern campground site's.
Property values have risen exponentially over the last 50 years so of course at a time when RVing is even more popular than ever the end result is limited campsites. It's also the reason that in popular tourist areas campsite fees can easily be $80 US a night, and more. It's the law of supply & demand, if you wanna play you gotta pay - simple.

As with many thing's in this world currently society is destroying what was an enjoyable adventure and hobby.
Of course you're not one of them. :W

I wonder what the campground I was in would have said if I pulled in with my 50 amp power hog and had the roof covered with solar panels and did not even hook up to their crappy outdated electrical grid. I imagine I'd still get snide snears from all the olded smaller unit owners whose power was going going off because of all their old in-efficient air conditioner's.
Why would you care what they think? If you've paid to be on a particular campsite and meet the campground's requirements there's no reason to care what others think. :R

It's very sad but because of societal changes after camping and rv'ing for over 50 years it is beginning to become un-enjoyable.
That's old people speak for "I don't understand what's going on and I don't like it". Problem is, our parents and grandparents said exactly the same thing. :D As it affects your camping, if it bothers you so much you still have a choice - don't do it any more and save yourself the aggravation. Also simple. :)
