It puts us at a further disadvantage. Not only are many sites not available to us because of the size of a 5th wheel,
With a 32' 5er you'll have a lot of CG selections.
we also have to limit ourselves to 50A sites within those campgrounds that we can fit. That narrows down the possibilities quite a bit.
Where did you get that idea? Practically all CGs accept rigs that fit the site. This thread is the first time anyone has posted that restriction that I'm aware of. In other words a one off situation.
In other words go enjoy your new rig. :C
Since you don't need 50A consider carrying a 30A cord instead. They have the advantage of being lighter, take less space and a lot easier to handle.
Within this thread, there are numerous mentions of doing this and campground owners indicating they would be able to tell you are using a 30A cord but have a 50A service. I have a dogbone reducer. My original post explains that. Whether I'm reducing using a dogbone at the pedestal or reducing using a reducer at my campers electrical connector, I would still be going against the policy of some campgrounds that don't allow 50A campers on a 30A site. Here is a link to another webpage that discusses this exact topic
