Hi,
Just one more reason I dislike the PI and TRC offerings. Load shedding has been around for a lot of years. It is not cheap to add.
I built my own demand controller using a standard 30 amp current sensing relay that has an adjustable preset level when it cuts out. I've installed 3 permanent recessed heaters in 3 rooms/area in our TT totallng 2,000 watts. The relay automatically shuts off the heaters for the duration other loads are turned on or plugged in like toaster, coffee maker, hair dryer, etc. Been using it for 4 season now and it works great. Have never tripped a 30 amp breaker anywhere.
Load shedding using a simple current sensing relay would be an easy add-on to a standard converter/panel either as OEM or retrofit. Not sure how the NEC would impact on it tho.
