Cracker Barrel

I'm surprised at all the bad pub Cracker Barrel is getting. I only ate there once years ago and it was overcrowded and food was just ok. But if you get free overnight parking I think i could eat there again :)

Would you continually go back to the same gas station if they gave your bad fuel for free?

I am often amazed at what people will put into their bodies and minds by eating bad food or reading ungodly books.

Free parking is one thing but to eat bad food just to get the free parking? I have eaten at Cracker Barrel many times and so far the food was ok; sometimes super. I think it depends on the quality of the staff more than the actual food. It takes quality chefs to prepare a fine dish worthy of ones palate and promote good health. Any one can serve a bad meal.

I said i went there once and the food was just ok. I'm more interested in the free overnight parking than the food - but YES i would eat there again after driving all day. I am in no mood to cook after a day on the road.

[Pastor, where do you suggest we find "good food" while in a large RV in unknown territory?

I to would like to know where that perfect meal is served every time myself. I ate in a place a year ago that was famous for its good food. I had prime rib etc and paid North of $200. I have had better at Golden Corral!

Haven't been for quite a while, but CB was the daily stop for breakfast when we were RV'ng. Southern Gulf Coast, and at least one "level" of State's North.

Never had a problem with the 22' TT; infrequently wasn't able to get in with the 30' TT. Rarely could find a spot when we had the 38' FW.

Food was dependable; always found it to be tolerable; not home cooking, but not as rancid as some other chains and at least in the areas I traveled, a dependable solid breakfast. Wouldn't eat there for lunch / dinner, but have that same feeling about many other breakfast-centric chains.

Tell us where we can get a breakfast that's comprised of eggs, bacon, sausage, and the like that's not greasy? Face it, restaurants serve greasy food -- if it wasn't greasy (especially those breakfast items) it would be pretty tasteless!

Maybe if they offered an alternative to a greasy breakfast? They don't even have an omelette on the menu. I guess they do have oatmeal. But who goes to a restaurant to get oatmeal...

Has anyone else noticed that most of the people that don't like CB are from the north? Maybe yall just don't like SOUTHERN cooking. I know when I was trucking I hated the food up north.

You can order stuff that isn't on the menu. I have no idea why they do it that way. My wife orders an omelet there. I refused to go there because I wanted hash browns with breakfast. Grits are disgusting, and the other thing was that nasty hash brown casserole thing. Yuck-o. So it turns out they serve hash browns, but they aren't listed on the menu.

So I will go there, but personally I prefer Waffle House for breakfast. I try to find local restaurants over franchises whenever possible. Franchise food is usually so bland as to be non identifiable as food.

LOL At the end of the day traditional breakfast is supposed to be greasy.
Make no mistake about it Bacon, eggs, sausage, grits, pan cakes and biscuits are greasy foods!

My thoughts exactly ! How else is breakfast supposed to be cooked?? If it's greasy, it's good ! :B

The CB near us has RV/bus parking but those spots ALWAYS have small cars in the spots for some reason?? It's not like they are closer to the door...

NOW... IF Waffle House had RV parking... ! ! :B
