Cracker Barrel

That mediocrity is alive and well? :)

We do Cracker Barrels a lot and have for 30+ years, about 40-45 different locations. Our longest rig we use is 50' 7" long. A 29' Carriage 5th wheel behind our GM diesel crew cab long box truck. the 5th wheel has a 2' X 7-1/2' welded rack across the back we carry many items on. Never had any issues getting in or out of a Cracker Barrel yet. However, we do totally fill the RV space plus usually up to a foot of length. There are some Cracker barrels that do have shorter RV spaces and we know we'd be too long so we just choose another Cracker Barrel. We DO like their food and it is NOT greasy and that's why we go there when RV'ing. Can't say we have ever had a bad meal there.

It's so great after traveling all day to have a place to park overnight in a secure lighted RV site only a short walking distance from a nice hot meal waiting for you. Then if wanted, a nice breakfast before you leave the next day. Short walking distance is important to us as my wife is disabled and a long walking distance is totally out!

It's our 52nd year of extensive RV'ing with many different types of RV's. now so we sure aren't new to RV'ing. There are a lot of Cracker Barrels to choose from when traveling so just pick the one for you. A 30' class C should fit in every Cracker Barrel that has RV and bus parking. Simply use your cellphone or Laptop and go to Google Maps and you can view the RV parking area at a Cracker Barrel before you get there so no there are no surprises.

We so disagree with those who say their food is not good as it sure is and very reasonable and is why they have been in business since 1969 and still growing while so many other restaurants have failed or were closed. Tells you something!!!

Cracker Barrel is SOUTHERN cooking. Northerners typically prefer blander, less seasoned food (I know, because I grew up in Michigan with that kind of fare). Accept CB for what it is. If you don't like it, don't eat there -- simple as that.

I'm from Michigan also and I love Cracker Barrel breakfast. I often get breakfast (mamas pancake breakfast is my favorite) for supper when I'm there.:B For the cost I think they have the best breakfast of any chain I've been too. I know the one by me is usually always busy.

I am often amazed at what people will put into their bodies and minds by eating bad food or reading ungodly books.

Free parking is one thing but to eat bad food just to get the free parking? I have eaten at Cracker Barrel many times and so far the food was ok; sometimes super. I think it depends on the quality of the staff more than the actual food. It takes quality chefs to prepare a fine dish worthy of ones palate and promote good health. Any one can serve a bad meal.

I have not had a bad meal at Cracker Barrel. I usually eat at CB 2-3 times a year when in certain areas of the country and meet with a group of folks for dinner in their area. Other times in other areas I meet with different group of folks at different restaurants. Some groups are a dozen or so and some 60 or more, therefore we choose restaurants that not only have food we like and adequate seating but also adequate parking. Locally, wife and I usually eat out 2-4 times a week at a variety of restaurants serving a variety of foods.

My habit is I order what I want not necessarily what they bundle on a menu. Bundled meals are for the seller to make max profit; not necessarily healthy, not necessarily what I have a taste for.

I usually attend a restaurant that caters to whatever I am interested at the time, if I want fish I go to a reputable fish house, if steak I go to a steak house, if country food I go to a country restaurant, if Greek I go to a Greek restaurant, if Italian I go to a Italian restaurant. It all depends upon what I have a taste for at the time.

My MH and tow is 60' and when traveling in it I find many opportunities to park; coast to coast. There are some I pass because of lack of parking.

Be careful what you eat. We were with another couple at a restaurant in Yellowstone and was seated and ordered our drinks. The ladies attended the restroom and when then returned they followed a waitress who came out of the stall and did not wash her hands and they told us and we all got up to leave and the manager came over and asked what was wrong. The ladies told her what the waitress did and we left. It is not safe to complain and still eat in the restaurant they may spit in your food while it is being prepared.

There is bad food and then there are filthy food preparers.

Sure they're a franchise. A southern/country cooking franchise. Started in Lebanon, TN. Plus, the store attached to it couldn't be more southern/country. And, if you were from the south, you'd spell it "y'all" :C

I was down south and the waitress said "Grits or Hash Browns"
I answered Grits
The other Good old boys at the table announced that I was NOT a true northern Yankee.

I actualy like a large variety of food including SOUTHERN And Most of what CB serves.. The strange thing is I'm a big boy I like a plate FULL of food. and in a CB I keep looking at what is a sparsely populated plate and thinking "That's not enough" but when I get up from the table.. I'm full.
