DH wants a dash cam for the RV for Christmas. Anyone have suggestions on what to buy? Thank you!
I have the Blueskysea G1W-C Dash Cam. It records HD video in mp4 format to a microSD card, and is powered by any 12volt outlet in your vehicle.
That model was recently rated by Dashcamtalk as the best under $100 dashcam, with video quality that equals or beats many $200 dashcams.
I bought mine from Amazon for $55 and have been using it for several months without any problem.
You can see the quality it records in a video I posted at Vimeo.
Bill - BumpyroadExplorersomebody here recommended one to me that was about $52 and it works great. I started with a $19.95 special and that was not "optimal".

I have the Ojocam Mini 0801. Love it. Go to "You Tube" and watch reviews on them.
Thanks, that is what we have, and it does a great job. Small uses a mini SD are to record. - RinconVTRExplorerI was using my smartphone with one of two apps (dailyroads and autogaurd pro) which worked well. But then I discovered the Cobra line of cameras that I could install permanently.
I now have two Corbra cams (one in my car, one in the wifes) one under 100 and one well over. They BOTH work GREAT.
Don't bother with the off brand names, and don't bother with the HD action cames like the GoPro. They are not made to be dash cams, they are too big, too expensive and most do not have LOOP RECORDING...a MUST have for dash cams. The off brands are really....REALLY crappy! - Nutinelse2doExplorerWe have the KIWAV ABEO HDVR -180 G2.

- JimandLynn923ExplorerThanks to everyone for the suggestions. And, I found the thread on dash cams. Good stuff there, too. Thanks for the help!
- rhagfoExplorer IIIMine is not a big brand, but is small and discrete! Hides behind the rearview mirror. Takes great video and wide angle, clear video night and day.
I see it as my best friend, an unbiased witness if in an accident! - beemerphile1ExplorerThere was a discussion recently about several brands and members experience with each. A forum search should bring it up for you.
