That was the thing I disliked having, the fittings it with other storage, even though they were in a container.

The 5" Vinyl fence post, holds everything and it is away from stuff you don't want stinky. My hose fit in the bumper just fine, but it was rusty and getting rid of the rust and painting the inside was very difficult.

OK, in my 4" bumper I store a 15' Rhino hose (with only basic fittings ea end.) another spare hose that came with the camper (never used it but...) and a push broom & handle.

Other fittings go in storage. I like the Rhino.

Really this is about the best way to go! Room for all the fittings and hose. It is as secure as you make it and very smooth inside.

Well I was able to get mine done today! Thanks GoDucks10, I place mine in the back for now, as I need to make some good spacers off the frame so it will clear the gas line, OR move the gas line up into the frame.
I really like the idea that ALL the stinky stuff goes in the tube, stinky slinky (both lengths), the clear 45 degree elbow, and the 90 degree at the site.







Simple latch, dug out the pop rivet tool for this project.



Simple 3/4" X 1/8" steel strap to secure to frame.

OP here. Thanks for all the replies. We have stored our cheap came with the camper hose in the bumper for 6 years. Have already put pins on the bumper of the new camper, but the cheap hoses are about done.

BTW, if we stored anything else long and skinny in the bumper, it would be a ham radio antenna, or fiberglass push up pole that holds antenna wire.

We stored in a bumper for years. Sliding in and out, wore out more hoses than stepping on them ever did. Finally got a Rhino with couplings that don't fit in the bumper and have been using a plastic container with lid for all the sewer stuff since. Way easier and way less wear. Easily rinsed out and sprayed with some Lysol if it makes you nervous.

I far prefer to have my nice Viper hose in the clean and smooth vinyl fence post.
If you insist on using a steel bumper then just get the cheepest you can find.

The sewer hose bumper needs some re-engineering. It needs better caps that don't just fall off on the road (likely taking your slinky with it), attached better (anything more than a spare tire can cause the bumper to just tear off), and of a larger diameter to handle the fittings required by most RV parks on a sewer hose.

Probably the best compromise right now is to buy the larger diameter sewage hose tube and mount that on the bumper... then use the old bumper for fishing rods if it isn't completely rusted out inside, and one can get endcaps that won't fly off on the road.

I'm not sure how well it will last in a 4" bumper but I just picked up a Tetford "Smart Hose" this is a rubberized hose that takes steping on well.

I think it might just fit... But LOOK AT IT before you buy it,, I have a six inch PVC holder, and a 4" as well, my older hoses would not fit the 4" but this one might,, You see, the ends are different, and Detachable in the manner of a fire hose.

Yes, there are lots of posts about what is a decent sewer hose.

Yes, there are lots of posts about making a carrier from 5" vinyl fencepost and gutter or using a 5 gal bucket.

I haven't seen anything about setups that will fit in the bumper.

You may want to look at the link below for options. I went with the 5" X 8' Vinyl fence post. I have two lengths of hose, 45 degree clear elbow, and the 90 degree for the CG connection now stored in it!

Keep in mind the inside of the bumper rusts and becomes like sandpaper to the hose, vinyl will stay smooth for life.
