Good input above. From your signature you could camp anywhere and drive to the border parking lot. The casino CG is about a mile from the border, not sure as I always drive. I've seen campers immediately on the north side of I8, don't know anything about that area. There is a second casino CG in CA very close to I8 and the CA/AZ border, also dry camping and I don't recall any fee.
