We are putting our 5th wheel on our seasonal site Saturday April 12th. We are in South Western Michigan. The weather forecast is for highs in the 50's and low 60's but there are a couple of days in the 10 day forecast where the low temps will be as low as 26 degrees. My question is do I do I dewinterize or not?

I did ours here in NE Ohio this weekend. Our first trip is in four days so it is all sanitized and filled to the brim now.

I would wait at least till the end of the month. You know our MI weather and always have a couple of real cold night before the end of April!

A low of 26° overnight will not freeze up your system, especially when you are into the 50-60° range in the daytime.

Chances are you'll be fine but, it has snowed in that part of Michigan in April. This has been a colder then usual winter. You save $10 you lose possibly $100 on a new water pump alone. Mine will stay wintereized until mid May at least.

In the process of De-winterizing in NC Kansas. Flushed the lines Sat - let bleach water set over the weekend. Drained it out - now will add fresh water to system & check everything out. Preparing to start a 10 week 12 state run visiting family & friends on April 17th.

A few hours below freezing will not damage anything. If nervous, you can always set your furnace at 45-50 for peace of mind.

If there's a doubt why not wait until closer to when you're planning on using it. Dewinterizing would only take an hour or so (water system only) so shouldn't be a big rush to get the job done if weather is doubtful.

Sanitizing will take more than 1 hour.

I dewinterized two weeks ago. I did blow the lines out when we got home. Took all of 15-20 minutes to blow the lines. Good luck, John
