No on both counts. This is common practice on some tour boats in order to cut down on water (yes, it does cut down water usage) and keeps the holding tank from filling up too quickly.
Why do some of you consider it gross? You are still handling the soiled tissue whether you drop it in the toidy or in a diaper pail. My concern would be what happens when it hits a landfill. I assume it would just disintegrate.
Nothing wrong with what you want to do, but it seems like an over complication compared to what the trailer is designed to do. But everyone has their own preference. Some will never use the toilet in their rig and prefer to use the campground's facilitates. I've seen my share of filthy campground bathrooms so no thanks. My wife is a clean freak when it comes to bathrooms and prefers to use the one she knows is clean.
BTW, we use Kirkland or Angel Soft and have never had a problem in over 13 years.
But like I say to others, "do what makes you happy".
