Those heater should be running #1 Diesel Fuel. That will stop most of your stinky problem. As DutchmenSport stated Kerosene is even better yet.
In my area we still call them Knipco's. That was the company that originally built them. I bet they are all made in China Now.
I have heard them called Salamander heaters for some reason?
Used to heat the hog house with one of them when I was a kid. Too bad that one died but, we still have a original Knipco on the farm we fire up in the winter when we need a lot of direct heat on something. Either to thaw something frozen out or to keep us warm while we fix something on a cold day.
