#1 and #2 Diesel and #1 and #2 Heating oil are very similar. You can put diesel fuel in your home tank in a pinch to keep your furnace going. But, in my area you can't put heating oil in your diesel powered vehicle. I mean you can but, it's a dirtier fuel and it will plug up your filters quicker and you don't want to run the risk of a plugged injector.
Kerosene is different all together. I don't know what Jet A is.
