With diesel, you are paying for towing experience & capability, and some extra TT GVWR pulling power. The extra mpg vs up front cost vs operating cost vs gas prices vs residual value argument over gassers has been beaten to death for years.
Bottom line: Some think it’s worth it, some don’t. 7 years ago I did not think it was worth it...didn’t make sense for our situation. But our situation has changed and now it is very much worth it.
It’s almost like cloth vs leather. If you have the extra money, it’s worth it. But if the $ you save going with cloth is better used elsewhere, then you should go with that.
Just my $0.02....not that it’s worth a lot.
