BTW - I'm not a naysayer, if you want a diesel buy a diesel, they certainly are a better towing platform. But the claims that the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) are cheaper is hogwash. Buy it for its performance (it may be worth it to you), but the being cheaper is BS.
Be nice to see the actual numbers on the very "select" sample of 350 vehicles. It also picks up on part of the early dpf emissions vehicles which skew repair numbers.
And I also didn't talk about TCO because that is very subjective...more so than purchase vs salvage value.
That's ok, I also was pretty clear that owning a diesel isn't a retirement plan compared to a gasser. Just refuting the extreme opposite wing that look through rose colored glasses that are filled with 87 octane unleaded!
