Are you sure your receiver is rated for that tongue weight? You may need to look into a SuperHitch or equivalent to get that capacity.
Are you using any suspension helpers like air bags? These may be causing more sway and bounce. Look into Timbren, StableLoad or SuperSpring if you need to address sag.
What pressure are you using on your rear tires? Filling them up to maximum side wall listed pressure will help. Some people have better luck running stiffer LT tires on their 1/2 tons, but I don't think you need to add this expense.
You would have had better towing experiences with a SRW 1 or 3/4 ton vehicle, but there is still some things you can do with your current truck to improve on it.
Yes. The ford factory hitch is rated for 1300 lbs. I’m not using any timbrens, as I had them on a chevy and hated them. My rear squat is within the specs in the equalizer setup instructions. I’ve never ran anything more than stock 35 psi. I would much rather have a 3/4 or 1 ton but this vehicle is dual purpose where I travel a lot with it for work, so I need the moderately ok fuel economy. That’s why we have a smaller camper. I’d rather have a 30+ footer, multiple slides, etc. I wish this site would let me post pictures of how my setup looks so you guys can see that it looks normal.
