Grit dog is correct above. Towing a big box behind your truck is never going to feel the same as towing a flatbed, boat, or going solo. Perhaps your expectations for towing a travel trailer need to be re-examined.
That being said, there are hitches out there and improvements you can make to both the trailer and tow vehicle that will improve the towing experience. I would encourage you to check out thoroughly the many ideas and suggestion you have received here. If all check out, then perhaps it is the expectations that need to be looked at. Good luck. :)
Edit: I just re-read the first couple of pages and my gut is telling me that your problem lies in your tires and weak WD spring bars. I would go for LT tires LR D or E on the truck and 1400lbs spring bars on a hitch that includes sway control. The heavy tongue weight is not causing the problem but probably is mitigating it to some extent.
