Too much tongue weight isn't your problem, and trying to reduce it with ballast... You'll have over 2000lbs in the back of your trailer before you see an appreciable change in tongue weight. The axles are simply too far back for that to work.
I clearly said that tows poorly is generic; that is admission that I am stating the obvious. What more do I need to describe other than it is difficult to keep in a straight line, feels as if the rear of the truck is not stable, etc. I don’t know what else you are asking to me to describe, so perhaps you could be more specific so we can keep this dialogue constructive.
I have semi decent weight distribution back to my front axle as is, so I don’t think it’s the typical light steering feel when not enough weight is being transferred back to the steer axle.
