Dinghy towing 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

If I remove fuse 32 (Discrete Logic Ignition Switch) as advised in the Owner's Manual for dinghy towing, will the cigarette lighter receptacle on the dashboard remain powered so my Blue Ox Patriot braking system can operate?
Moved from Class C.

Run a 12V receptacle directly from the battery of the Equinox to the inside of the car. That's what I did on my Saturn Vue. I used 10 gauge wire and fused it at the battery side.
  • Not sure on a 2011 but our 2013 Malibu and other GM cars cut power to the outlets when the key is out. Removing the fuse makes the system think the key is out. You really need to test it out to be sure.
