Dingy towing a rear wheel drive vehicle??

Remco also lists the 6 speed manual as trailer only, as well as BMW's instructions for a tow truck, no wheels on the ground, flatbed or dolly wheels.

Even though it may not be "approved", might it still be towable?

For example, I and more than 40 others that I know tow a Miata as do several others on this Forum. According to Mazda, NO Miata is towable.

With the probably low numbers of people who desire to tow one, maybe BMW just does not want to spend the $$ to certify the car as towable.

I have seen people backwards towing a vehicle on a dolly. don't know if it is a good idea however.

On the BMW a 5 speed manual is towable a 6 speed is not! Don't know what they changed but the newer gearbox is not approved.

We tow a 323i convertible 1999 on a dolly face forward. Purposely got a 99 because of the gear box issue.

For mine the front is way to low to load on backwards.

Our friends have towed two BMW manuals. Common thinking is if DEMCO or someone makes a baseplate for it, it can be towed. Remco is a company that specializes in flat towing cars that are not approved for flat towing. They are very helpful if call them and ask.

I am thinking a 3 series BMW or one of the smaller merc's, or something similar.
All rear whee drive and standard transmission.
