Today i found what i was looking for while on a trip to the land-field. After a few minutes of convincing the attendant, i was able to pull this out of the blue metal box.I already have an extra satellite box in the attic and plenty of wire.I am building a base out of pvc pipes unless i come across a tripod, :B just direct me where is a road construction :CFor the questions; need to know if one of you guys is using this antenna or similar and how many cables you are using with it?Then i guess i will use the outside cable connector to get signal into TT. I imagine connection in the TT is similar to the one in the house. OK, how do i set the signal for the reception? I will have more question later, thanks for the help.Luis

I hope you have active account with DirecTV. I use about 30 feet of line.

Will not work for HD and the dish in the photo is outdated. You will need a slimline 3 or 5 HD dish or similar to receive HD programming.

I have one just like that sitting in a pile of junk ready to go to the dump. A lightning strike took out all of the LNB's so Direct TV came out and put me a new style dish on the house. They told me to just toss the old dish because it was outdated and useless. Hope yours has good LNB's and will work with you boxes. Good luck.

Should work fine if LMB's are good and you watch Standard definition--I've been told it will not work with HD. I have 3, 1 for house, 1 mounted out in yard for trailer use, and 1 in the trailer for traveling. Randu

I got my tripod at lowes. It is the universal kind for mounting antennas on roof tops.conduit fit right down in there and the dish mount slid right on the conduit.

What type of coax cable do I need to hook up my DTV slimline dish with an HD receiver?

Also, my slimline has 4 cable hookups because it used to be hooked up to the house where the DTV was in 3 rooms.

First, is the 4th cable to get the service into the house and the other 3, to go to the three rooms?

Second, how do I know which one is the "main cable" and which one to hook the receiver to?

I have little knowledge on this, if you have a HD receiver/ DVR you will need to run two cables from antenna to receiver- if it is a Regular HD no DVR you use one cable. I would use one of the cables or connections in the middle of the LNB.

It works!!!:B

The mount is very easy to build and it gives plenty support and stability. All connections are glued in except right under the dish, that joint serves as a pivot to rotate the antenna left or right and the thumb screw holds it in place. If i need to add weight i can add water or sand in the mount. I also used wing nuts on the antenna for easy adjustments.

I have one similar to this for my 5ver. When my oldest daughter married I wondered what I was going to do with the extra receiver. Then I thought of the camper. I found a used dish on Craigslist for $20. I bought it and hooked it up, works great. I use a simple hand held compass to align it. The key thing is Direct TV will automatically deactivate the receiver if not used in a 30 day period. You can reactivate it online or by calling them. You also have to make sure it is level. I also made my own mount for setting it on the ground. I'm actually thinking about applying for a patent on the mount I made.

You will need to run a separate cable all the way to the cable box or mod the existing one to bypass the ant amplifier…

I was going to say that.. When DirecTV first went HD they rented space on a couple of Echostar slots, 110 and 119, that looks like it is a "Triple LNB" with the LNB"s set for 3 equa-distant birds, 101 (plus 9 negrees) 110 (plus 9 more) 119.. The original DirecHD pattern.

Today they have moved the HD content to 99 and 103 and a different frequency band.. That antenna will work for DirecTV but not HD

You can actually put a slimline3 LNB on that dish and make it work for hi definition. I played with it and got it to work. Because the dish is smaller you will not get as strong a signal as with the slimlin3 dish but strong enough to give you a decent picture. The advantage is that it takes up less room.
The PVC stand worked great when I used it for SD. I made mine with three legs. Much easier to level three legs verses four. I put caps on each leg then drilled holes from the top of the elbow down through the caps. i then epoxied nuts inside the caps and installed carriage bolts. Simply adjust bolts to level.
If the weather ever straightens up I'm going to see if i can get the setup working again.

By passing the Antenna amp is not a problem, i already found the cable and have a 92% signal strength; i am installing a dedicated coax wall plate next to the original for the antenna this way i can use the existing cable and outside connector from the TT.

I use to be a directive installer and have installed in many types of rv's

The type of cable required is RG6

If you lnb has 4 connections, what that enables you to do is hook up 4 recievers or 2 dvr's. 2 cables are required to be able to record 2programs at Once but you can use one cable.

Depending on the year of the Rv it sometimes works through the cable connection on the outside without any modifications

Thanks for the info. In my TT i will have to install a separate wall plate to connect the SAT cable (and still use the same cable ran from factory) looks like the antenna booster is affecting the signal. I am using an AB switch between tv - sat box and antenna booster.
