If it makes you feel better to unhook the power cord, do it. I would suggest just pulling from tow vehicle and zip tying to RV pulling apparatus. Do it in such a way that you will not forget to re-hook in the morning. I have heard of fools detaching tow bars and 5th wheel pins over the 50 years I have Rv'd. You will never fix stupid. So far I have never heard of any one having a serious problem with it. Now not being able to unhook in the event of fire due to keyed locks is a whole different problem. I have personally seen those charred remains.
